Why 'Pirates of the Caribbean' pointing Sikhs as bad people?

Sikhs were never pirates. But in the third part when there is meeting of the pirates from all over the world, to show that there are pirates from india the director may have used sikhs. Because by their pagadi(one type of hat) any one can judge they are indian.
