What should I do with my international affairs interest?

So, I'm only 14, but I got bored and started to wonder what I want to do with my life (yeah, yeah, call me a loser/low-life, I don't really give a damn). I'm bi-cultural and bi-lingual, which stroked an interest in me for international affairs. So, I would like to go into that field. But, International affairs is the poor man's sector, since eventually, one shall see that International Relations do not extend far into the wealthiness aspect, as the farthest one can realistically go with that study, is maybe policy. Am I wrong? My parents have told me that economics and fiance are the money rackets today, and therefore, they want me to go into that field. Are these 3 fields interchangeable? Or should I go into international affairs, despite the fact it'll be lack serious lucrativeness?
