How to un-dry gray clay?

In my art class, we're making coil pots, and we have to bag just the top of the clay to let the bottom of it get harder so it wont collapse. I forgot it was Friday and left my bottom of my pot completely uncovered for the weekend. The pot is only halfway done and I need to know if there is some way to get the clay wet again because I think it's going to be too fragile to work with! I don't know what kind of clay it is, but it's gray clay that you fire with a kiln.
