Has anyone heard of the gang called the Saints?

I was on Xbox live the last night and one of my friends and i were getting in a serious conversation when he started talking about how when he was young he couldn't even walk the 2 blocks to school without all the gang violence so he and his friends started this gang to keep them at bay. He said that they grew and fought even more gangs he said they fought only gangs and never engaged in Racketing Prostitution or any of that stuff. they only did it to stop the other gangs. He said that they called them selves the Saints but I couldn't pull anything up on them. he said they were relatively small and that he is starting to work with law enforcement to work against the Krips and the Blood. I don't think its true but i don't know he was actually crying at some the stories he told us and it came from something else. I would like to keep what he said private because alot of it was VERY personel.
