What is simplified tennis?

I have no idea what simplified tennis is. I want to try out for the tennis team when school starts but can you please tell me the rules to tennis? I might be getting lessons but a few tips and notes would help. I don't have a single idea about tennis except that you swing a tennis racket over the net. pleasseee help. thanks!
